Focused Feed ("the Extension", "we", "us", or "our") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users remove distracting content such as ads, unwanted images, and noisy feed posts from Facebook and LinkedIn. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our Extension.

By installing and using Focused Feed, you agree to the terms described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Focused Feed does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. We do not collect:

• Personally identifiable information (name, email address, phone number, physical address)
• Authentication information (usernames, passwords, tokens)
• Financial or payment information
• Health information
• Location data
• Web browsing history or activity
• User activity or behavior analytics
• Communication data

3. How the Extension Works

Focused Feed operates entirely within your browser. It modifies the visual appearance of Facebook and LinkedIn web pages by hiding or removing specific page elements (such as ads, images, videos, and feed posts) based on your preferences. The Extension:

• Runs content scripts on facebook.com and linkedin.com only
• Reads page content locally to identify elements to hide
• Does not modify, intercept, or transmit any page data to external servers
• Does not inject any tracking scripts or analytics

4. Data Storage

All user preferences and settings (such as which content types to hide) are stored locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data:

• Never leaves your browser
• Is not transmitted to any server
• Is not accessible to us or any third party
• Can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the Extension

5. Permissions Justification

The Extension requests the following browser permissions, each used solely for core functionality:

Permission	Purpose
activeTab	To access and modify the content of the currently active tab on supported sites (Facebook and LinkedIn) when the user activates the extension.
storage	To save user preferences locally on the device so settings persist between sessions.
Host permissions *://*.facebook.com/* *://*.linkedin.com/*	To run content scripts on Facebook and LinkedIn pages in order to identify and hide distracting elements.

No permissions are used to collect, monitor, or transmit user data.

6. Third-Party Services

Focused Feed does not:

• Integrate with any third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics)
• Use any advertising SDKs or tracking pixels
• Share, sell, rent, or trade any user data with third parties
• Make any network requests to external servers

7. Remote Code

Focused Feed does not use any remotely hosted code. All code is bundled within the Extension package and reviewed as part of the Chrome Web Store submission process.

8. Children's Privacy

Focused Feed does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected, the Extension is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

9. Data Security

Since Focused Feed does not collect or transmit any data, there is no risk of data breach from our end. All user preferences are stored locally using Chrome's built-in secure storage mechanisms.

10. User Rights

You have full control over the Extension and your data at all times:

• Access: View your settings within the Extension popup at any time.
• Modify: Change your preferences through the Extension interface.
• Delete: Uninstall the Extension to remove all stored preferences from your device.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
